Day 2

End of an Era

Here in western North Carolina, USA, furniture and textiles were king. Many textile factories made everything from socks to furniture upolstery. Small independent factories were contracted to dye the fabric. There were literally hundreds of small "dye houses" employing thousands of people. When the big factories moved operations to China, all of the dye houses closed. This small factory had been in operation since 1932. When it closed, people literally walked away, leaving all types of things behind. This was shot with a700 in bracket mode, 5 exposures @.3 increments. Blended in Photomatix Pro and further processed in PSCS3
